Wirksworth and Middleton U11's got off to an excellent start in chilly but bright conditions at Middleton Sunday morning vs Ashbourne.

Both teams had minimal hard ball match experience, but Wirksworth’s stop-start winter of Indoor Cricket experience shone through, particularly the running between the wickets, although a few of the runs were touch and go at times.

The batting was excellent from all players and the bowling was solid, and will continue to improve as players get used to the weight and feel of the hard ball.

The league proper for the U11’s hardball starts next Sunday at home vs Ashover.
